Vows Including Religion

I prayed for you before I ever met you.

You’re the answer to every prayer I have ever prayed.

You are the only one for me, and from this day forth I will forsake all others and be bound only to you.

I love you, and now I get to spend the rest of my life proving it to you.

I take you (name), again, our love will be stronger and better than before and I vow to hold you in my arms each opportunity I get because there is no one or nowhere I would rather be for the rest of my life than with you again.

I know that we have made promises to one another before but this time I will make all of the promises before seem more wonderful and again I will love you now and as you grow into what God intends.

I will do all I can to maintain an open line of communication with you and even when it seems or feels that things are not getting better I will continue to trust GOD and believe that all things work together for the good of those who are called according to His purpose knowing this one thing that He who has begun a good work in both of us will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ’s return.

I will not forsake you or these vows that we have made, again but rather strive to show you my love for the rest of our lives.

This is my promise to you.

Since I have found you, (name), I have found a new life.

The decision to commit to sharing that life with you is one I make happily and with full confidence in our love, secure in the knowledge that you will be my constant friend, my faithful partner in life, and my one true love.

On this special day, I give to you, in the presence of God and all these witnesses, my pledge to stay by your side, in sickness, and in health, in joy and in sorrow, as well as through the good times and the bad.

I promise to love you without reservation, comfort you in times of distress, encourage you to achieve all of your goals, laugh with you and cry with you, grow with you in mind and spirit, always be open and honest with you, and cherish you for as long as we both shall live.

Life seemed ordinary… until I met you.
The hours I kept, the words I said — none of it meant anything until I encountered the brightest smile I’d ever seen.
That smile was no longer only in my dreams, it was now in my line of vision.
When I let go and let God, I was no longer afraid and definitely not looking back… I fell in love!
From the moment I met you, (name), I knew you were The One.
The realisation that God and I finally agree on something allowed me to know and to love you.
Peace came not only in our own interest but in that of our children.
Our family meshed so naturally, I look forward to the memories we’ll make together.
(name), I vow this day that I will love and treasure you.
I will be open, understanding, and without judgment.
I promise to trust your actions and intentions and believe you will respect mine.
I vow to remain by your side in sickness and in health.
I’ll support you in richness and in lacking.
In the best and worst of times, I promise to share your joy and lend support.
I vow to be faithful and love you completely for the rest of our lives.

I am proud to marry you this day, (name).

I promise to wipe away your tears with my laughter, and your pain with my caring and my compassion.

We will wipe out the old canvases of our lives, and let God, with His amazing artistic talent, fill them with new colour, harmony, and beauty.

I give myself to you completely, and I promise to love you always, from this day forth.

I commit myself to years of growth and sharing as I encourage you to move in a new direction.

I will strive to achieve my potential as God’s creature and will celebrate your progress toward the same goal.

I give myself as I am and as I will be, and I do it for all of life.

I love you, and I thank the Lord for the love that has bound our hearts and lives together in spiritual fellowship of marriage.

I will love, honour, and cherish you always.

In the sight of God’s love and in the presence of our families and friends, I (name), take you, (name).

I offer my friendship and trust in you, promising to be faithful and understanding as long as we both shall live.

I, (name), take you, (name), to be my (husband/wife/partner in marriage).

As we join our hands and hearts in marriage, the separate roads of our lives also join to make one path.

I promise, as your (husband/wife/partner in marriage), to never walk too far ahead on our path and leave you behind, nor walk too slow and allow you to question my commitment.

If misfortune shall befall our path, I will encourage you and help guide you to prosperity.

If the path we walk becomes stricken with illness, I shall carry you and provide for you a caring touch.

I shall keep our path from becoming cumbersome or drab, for my love shall replenish you with each step of our journey.

And if my path should end before yours, I shall wait for you in the kingdom of heaven.

As freely, (name), as God has given me life, I join my life with yours.

In the presence of the Lord and of this assembly, I take thee to be my (husband/wife/partner in marriage), promising with Divine Assistance to be unto thee a loving and faithful (husband/wife/partner in marriage) until death shall separate us.

Don’t forget that as per subsection 45(2) of the Marriage Act sets out the minimum words (or vows) which must be used by the couple for a non-religious (civil) ceremony to be a marriage ceremony: Each of the parties to the marriage must say the vows to each other.

“I call upon the persons here present to witness that I, A.B. (or C.D.), take thee, C.D. (or A.B.), to be my lawful wedded (wife, husband, or spouse).
