Mikaela & Nathan’s Vineyard Wedding: A Stunning Celebration of Love

Borrodell vineyard was the perfect location for Mikaela and Nathan’s wedding.

The ceremony location was stunning and the splashes of colour from the beautiful flowers designed by Mikaela only made it more special.

Before the ceremony guest were entertained by the acoustic sounds of musician Brad White. Then as Mikaela entered the ceremony Brad played “If I ain’t got you”.

Mikaela and Nathan chose to write their own personal vows that expressed the love that they had for each other in a truly special way.

My favourite line from Mikaela’s vows: “You are one of a kind and if I had 1000 choices in life, I would choose you 1000 times over”. And my favourite line from Nathan’s vows: You are the best thing to ever happen to me. I will love you without end.

After Mikaela and Nathan exchanged their “I do’s” family and friends enjoyed pre-dinner drinks, canapes and a grazing table on the lawn overlooking the valley while being entertained by Brad.

Then family and friends got to celebrate Mikaela and Nathan union of marriage at their reception. With an evening filled with Borrodell award-winning wines, great food, fun speeches, a delicious cake, lawn games, laughter, fun and lots of dancing it was a fantastic celebration of this special occasion.

At the end of the night, Mikaela and Nathan excited their reception on a pathway lined by family and friends waving long sparklers and cheering.

It was a beautiful celebration of two very special people so very much in love.

Bride’s Look

My Dress had a whimsical style dress with an open back in a dusty pink colouring.
I chose this dress because I loved it as soon as I saw it! Very comfortable and less traditional than the usual bridal look. My bouquet had orange, yellow, and toffee colours with pops of purple.

Groom’s Look

Nathan really wanted to wear a white suit jacket and it looked perfect on him. He matched his jacket with black pants and this worked perfectly with my dress being a dusty pink colour.
His boutonniere was created in yellow and orange tones to stand out from the jacket.

Wedding Party Fashion

Our bridesmaids wore earthy autumn/bronze tones and our groomsmen in black suits. I created the florals and made them bright and colourful to again complement the block colouring of the outfits.

The Ceremony

We wrote our own personal vows and surprised each other on the day which both of us loved!

The Brides View On The Importance Of A Good Celebrant

Tanya brought a fun and energetic vibe to the ceremony! We felt so relaxed having her as our celebrant and we knew exactly what we needed to be doing.
Both Nathan and I knew that Tanya would have everything ready to go when we got there and it was.

Tanya was amazing! She helped us through every step of the process and made our day run so smoothly. She is a lovely person and we are so happy we chose her for our day!

The Theme & Wedding Decor

Nathan and I chose an Earthy Boho theme with pops of colour for our wedding!
I work as a florist and have a love of all things colour and the wedding style was guided by this. To compliment the flower colours I chose muted and earthy tones for the signage and tableware to allow the flowers to make a statement!

The Brides Wedding Day Advice

Have fun!
Be organised early rather than leaving things to the last week.
Take the advice of your vendors., particularly regarding timing etc. This is what they do every day and they know what works and what doesn’t!

The Bride’s Favourite Moment

It was nice to have a quick moment together (and a little breather!) at one of our favourite spots in Orange.

Brides Thoughts On Unexpected Hiccups

The groomsman that had the suits had his flight cancelled the night before the wedding at 6 pm (from Brisbane) and the other groomsman left his shirt in the hotel in Canberra!
There isn’t much you can do about either of these situations ….! But it all worked out!

Wedding Reception

Makaela and Nathan’s wedding reception was a special event that reflected them perfectly. It was a night full of fun, and laughter with speeches that had everyone in stitches, garden games that took the party outside and great music that kept the party going all night.

At the of the night, Malaela and Nathan had a sparkly and spectacular sendoff to the cheers of family and friends who lined the walkway with long sparklers.
