Ceremony Music

Ceremony music style

Gone are the days when it is expected that the ceremony entry music needs to be Felix Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March” in C major. Now for couples getting married selecting their own personal style of music for the ceremony, has become more important than ever. The music chosen will be the opening act of the wedding day, reflect the couple’s personalities, and set the tone for the entire day.

The music you need for your ceremony.

At the being of your ceremony you walk down the aisle, this marks the beginning of your wedding. When it comes to selecting the music for this special moment you may want to go with a classical piece or something a little more modern, you could also think about having live music. It doesn’t matter what music you choose for your entry, it’s just good to remember that you want to take your time walking so maybe look at a slower piece of music.

The next piece you will need is for when you are signing the marriage documents. At this point of the ceremony, you are married and the song you select should reflect this moment of love and happiness.

The last piece of music you will need is for when you exit the ceremony. This signals that the formal part of your day has concluded and it’s now time to start the celebrations. The piece of music you select is a great opportunity for you to share your excitement as a newly married couple and to start the party.

It’s your choice.

No matter what style of music you select for your special day just remember this is your day. It doesn’t matter what music you have as long as it is what you want and what works best for how you want your moment to feel.

Here, are 6 different music genres with 20 ideas in each to help you select the music that is best for your ceremony.

AboutTanya McDonald
It goes without saying that being a marriage celebrant is an honour and a privilege. I have loved weddings and what they represent for as long as I can remember. Since becoming a celebrant I am able to fulfill my passion and at the same time treasure each opportunity I have to work with couples to help them bring their dreams and ideas into life through their ceremonies. I have been a fully authorised marriage celebrant since 2014 and I have helped couples enjoy thier journey to the altar since then. If you need a celebrant, I would love to discuss your ceremony with you.
